HP Color Laserjet CM3530 new all-in-one printer

With this new machine HP fills the gap it had in the segment of powerfull all-in-one printers. Printer.com checked the specifications and found that it has inexpensive black and white printing, but full color pages are 5 times the price of black and white pages. We were also somewhat disappointed by the size of the standard paper tray, which is just 250 sheets.

Today's printer manufacterers are very good at giving people something to choose from. HP recently launched the Color Laserjet CM3530 (approximately $2,300) and the Color Laserjet CM3530fs (including fax machine at approximately $2,900).

Printer.com calculated the cost of printing per page for this printer.

• The cost of a black and white page is 1.8 cents, while the cost per color page is 10.1 cents. So if your department is printing a lot of black and white, this could be a good choice for you.
• But please remember that you should use the black and white High Yield cartridge, the CE250X, because the regular cartridge will cost approximately 40 per cent more!

The printer has one important disadvantage: the size of the standard paper tray. If your office is a normal to heavy user, you will have to add paper frequently. The standard tray has a capacity of just 250 sheets, and that is rather small for this price range. An additional paper tray holding 500 sheets is available and will cost approximately $300.
