The new Brother MFC-5490CN is really expensive due to the fact that this printer can’t use high yield cartridges.
Printer.com calculated the printing cost per page: Black/white pages: 5.2 cents Color pages: 9.2 cents
Actually, it seems that a better choice would be the MFC-5890CN. This is fundamentally the same printer, but the purchase price is roughly $80 more. The big advantage of this printer is that you can also use the high yield cartridges (LC-65).
