New HP Color LaserJet CP3525: high speed at a reasonable price
Sun 16-Nov-2008 10:36 | Recently HP launched it's new Color LaserJet CP 3525 printer, which was developed for the business market. There are 3 different printer versions available.
The new CP3525 is available in three printer versions: the CP 3525N, the CP 3525DN, (duplex - 2 sided printing) and the CP 3525X (extra sheetfeeder).
Printer.com compared the new printers to the previous model, the HP Color Laserjet 3800. The successor is much faster than the previous model.
The big question: what are the cost of the new cartridges?
Businesses are increasingly choosing to adopt color in the office to strengthen their branding and marketing. But what about the costs of cartridges? And don't forget the costs of regular black and white pages.
In many office situations it is more cost effective to have an additional, and perhaps faster and cheaper, printer for black and white pages only.
Printer.com calculated the costs of color pages as well as black and white pages for this new line of HP color laser printers. Our conclusion is that the cost of black and white pages from this color LaserJet are reasonable, but if the majority of pages you're printing are black and white, then it is worthwhile to use an additional black and white laser printer.
HP Laserjet CP3525 average cost is 1.7 cents per black/white page and 8.0 cents per color page.
Printer.com ranks the CP3525 a top 10 printer in its category when you take the cartridge costs into account. In any case, you should use the much cheaper high yield XL-cartridges. That will save you up to 30% in the cost of cartridges.
