Wed 21-Oct-2009 02:47 | A variety of major manufacturers of printer cartridges in Japan have joined forces to collect used cartridges from companies and individual users in order to better serve our environment.
Who are these companies?
This amazing venture is currently being coined as the “The Ink Cartridge Homecoming Project.” Collection boxes have been placed in all major Post Offices. By visiting the post office you can get rid of your used computer inkjet cartridges which are then returned to the plants where they will in some cases be recycled and reused.
It is expected that other companies and countries will support this initiative and begin implementing similar “Homecoming Projects”, with the entire world seemingly more interested in the environment and recycling. This is great news since millions of people worldwide have been interesting in finding out how they can recycle their used ink cartridges in order minimize impact on the environment.
What are the chances that the US Postal Service will jump on the band wagon and start putting these free collection boxes in post offices? There are a few organizations at work already that make the collection and disposal of ink cartridges convenient. However, such a recycling program through post offices would certainly be even more convenient!
